Abstract:

CaFeAl-LDO was prepared by pressure filtration residue(PACR) from polyaluminum chloride production. The structure and morphology of the adsorbent were characterized, and the adsorption effect of adsorbent on methyl orange was investigated. The results showed that the prepared adsorbent had hydrotalcite like structure before calcination, and its surface became loose and porous with obvious faults and cracks after calcination.BET analysis data showed that the specific surface area of CaFeAl-LDO was 1.5 times larger than that of PACR.FTIR also showed that CaFeAl-LDO effectively integrated the characteristic peaks of Ca-Al and Ca-Fe adsorbents. The results of adsorption experiments showed that the best calcination temperature of CaFeAl-LDO adsorbent was 750 ℃,and the adsorption of methyl orange conformed to the second-order adsorp-tion kinetic model, and the CaFeAl-LDO could be recycled for at least 5 times after being calcined at high temperature.
