Abstract: A certain amount of small particle size of limestone was calcined by static method approximated to suspension reaction process.Influences of different calcination temperatures, calcination times, amounts of material, and grain sizes on the activity of calcium oxide (CaO) were analyzed. Results showed that when a small amount of limestone with small particle size was calcined, the activity of CaO changed a lot with the variety of calcination temperatures and calcination times;under 900 ℃,with the reduction of mass of material, limestone distributed in scattered state,CaCO3 was decomposed rapidly, calcination time reduced significantly, activity of CaO approximated to the actual situation under the suspension.
