Abstract:

To prepare spherical CaCO3 that met the requirements of coating fillers and simultaneously achieved high value-added resource utilization of solid waste carbide slag, spherical CaCO3 was prepared using carbide slag as raw materials, ammonia as additive, and (NH42CO3 as carbonizing agent. The effects of feeding order, reaction temperature, dropping speed, additive and reactant ratio on the morphology of CaCO3 were studied. The results indicated that spherical CaCO3 could be achieved under the condition of the ratio of the amount of ammonia, ammonium carbonate, and calcium chloride substances at 1.5:1.5:1,and when Ca2+ solution was instantly added to(NH32CO3 solution, and the stirring speed was 1500 r/min,and the reaction temperature at 20 ℃,and react for 30 min.The obtained CaCO3 were spherical with a particle size(D50) of 2.733 μm and an aggregation index of 1.59.The particles were uniform and well dispersed with a purity of 97.67%,in which the crystal form was mainly vaterite, containing a small amount of calcite.Under the condition of using ammonia as the additive, the morphology control of spherical calcium carbonate was realized by adjusting the preparation process conditions. From the perspective of reducing raw materials cost and reducing environmental pollution, which provided reference for the future process research of preparing spherical single crystal CaCO3 from calcium carbide slag as raw materials.
