Abstract:

The adsorption capacity of phenolic resin-based spherical activated carbon(PFSAC) on DL-β-aminoisobutyric acid(DL-β-AIBA)and its feasibility as an oral medicinal coal for treating chronic renal failure(CRF) were investigated.A series of experiments were performed, including the experiment of the adsorption isotherms and the experiment of the adsorption rates and the adsorption rate for 3 h.Results showed that the adsorption of PFSAC on DL-β-AIBA belong to Langmuir adsorption, and the fitting rate of adsorption rate was in good agreement with the quasi-second-order kinetic equation. The pore volume of the phenolic PFSAC with a pore size of 1.0~1.8 nm has a good linear relationship with the adsorption capacity of DL-β-AIBA.And the adsorption rate of PFSAC to DL-β-AIBA for 3 h reached more than 58%.It showed that DL-β-AIBA can be adsorbed by PFSAC quickly and efficiently.
