Abstract:

The treatment of used cigarette filters(UCF) and the removal of methylene blue(MB) from water have important practical significance for ecological environment protection.Nitrogen-doped porous carbon materials(NCPC) derived from UCF with different temperature gradients(600,700,800 ℃) were prepared by one-step pyrolysis in ammonia atmosphere.Nitrogen adsorption-desorption measurements, elemental analysis,X-ray diffraction(XRD) and Raman spectrum analysis were used to characterize the microstructure and phase analysis of NCPC,and the adsorption characteristics of MB via NCPC were studied.Using NCPC as adsorbent, the effects of NCPC dosage, initial concentration,pH value, reaction temperature and contact time on the adsorption performance of methylene blue were investigated in detail. The results showed that the NCPC was prepared by pyrolysing at 800 ℃ for 2 h in ammonia atmosphere with the yield of 13.38%,the N doping amount of 5.99%,a specific surface area of 852.9 m2/g,total pore volume of 0.610 cm3/g,micropore volume accounts for 38.2% and average pore size of 5.10 nm.The adsorption capacity of NCPC-800 for methylene blue reached 787.1 mg/g at the reaction temperature of 25 ℃,pH of 10.4,adsorption time of 300 min, initial concentration of MB of 200 mg/L,NCPC dosage of 0.2 g/L.The adsorption process of was conformed to the pseudo second order kinetic model and intraparticle diffusion model. This study provided reference for the high-value utilization of UCF and the removal of MB from wastewater by porous carbon, and achieved the purpose of treating waste with waste.
