Abstract: The industrial characteristics of the inorganic chemicals industry were introduced，and the development trend of the inorganic chemicals industry from basic products to material products was expounded as well.The different stages and characteristics of the development of inorganic chemicals industry at abroad，and the different stages of development and growth experienced by domestic inorganic chemicals industry were reviewed.At the same time，it pointed out the prominent problems such as the scarcity of resources and excessive consumption，green development and pollution control，business model and profitability and new market expansion in domestic inorganic chemicals industry.It also pointed out the technological gaps existing in inorganic chemical industry in China and the development direction and suggestion for future inorganic chemicals industry in China was proposed.
