Modification of cathode material for lithium ion batteries by doping lithium manganate

Abstract: High purity LiMn2O4  and solid solution LiPrxMn2-xO4(x=0.02,0.04,0.06,0.08,0.10)were synthesized by solid-state reaction.Morphologies,structures,and electrochemical properties of the samples were investigated by SEM,XRD,and constant current charge-discharge analysis.Results showed when x=0.06,solid solution LiPr0.06Mn1.94O4 samples exhibited good spinel phase with even crystal size;solid solution LiPr0.06 Mn1.94O4 had good high temperature (55 ℃) cycling performance and its discharge capacity retained 82.5% after running for 50 cycles at 55 ℃ and 1C charge and discharge rate.
