Abstract: Hydrothermal,sol-gel,and photoassisted platinum deposition methods were used to prepare flower-like TiO2 catalysts on ZnO surface.Different structure organics were used to produce hydrogen. Results showed that TiO2 had flower-like morphology, large specific surface area, and good hydrogen generation performance.Methanol, formaldehyde, formic acid, ethers, ketones, esters, alkanes, and aromatic organic compounds had the similar hydrogen generation mechanism. Results showed that the structure of organics had a great effect on the activity for hydrogen production;because the structure of benzene ring was extremely stable, and it was hard to break apart,it could not to produce hydrogen. All in all, absorption between organic molecules and catalysts, and efficiency of —OH implantation were two most important factors in generating hydrogen, which determined the efficiency of hydrogen generation.
