Abstract: Granular monoclinic bismuth vanadate(BiVO4)/reduced graphene oxide(rGO) composite catalysts was prepared by hydrothermal method.FT-IR,Raman spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction(XRD) and UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectra(UV-vis DRS) were used to characterize the obtained composite material. The morphologies and specific surface areas of the composite material was measured by transmission electron microscopy(TEM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and ni trogen adsorption desorption. Results revealed that CO2 can be selectively reduced to methanol in the presence of the as synthesized BiVO4 and BiVO4/rGO hybrid catalysts. The photocatalytic activity was significantly improved when BiVO4 was doped with graphene. The methanol yield was 513.1 μmol/L under the conditions of graphene amount of 3%(mass fraction) and 600 W Xeon lamp irradiation for 6 h,which was 73.6% higher than that of pure BiVO4.
