Abstract:

In order to prepare efficient and low-cost catalysts for hydrogen production from ammonia borane, bamboo shavings carbon materials(BSC) derived from bamboo shavings were prepared by direct calcination. The Ru/BSC layered catalyst was finally prepared by impregnation reduction using BSC as carrier to support the Ru metal on the carrier surface. The catalyst structure composition and morphology were analyzed by various characterization methods and the effects of light and non-light,metal loading, catalyst dosage, ammonia borane concentration and temperature on hydrogen production from ammonia borane hydrolysis were investigated. The results showed that there was a metal-support interaction between Ru and BSC.The 1.0%Ru/BSC catalyst catalyzed ammonia borane hydrolysis dehydrogenation under visible light irradiation was significantly better than dark conditions. The rate of hydrogen production was directly proportional to the concentration of Ru/BSC,and the hydrogen production rate of ammonia borane hydrolysis catalyzed by Ru/BSC was independent of the concentration of ammonia borane. The TOF value of the dehydrogenation reaction of ammonia borane catalyzed by 1.0%Ru/BSC at 298 K was 446.4 min-1 and the activation energy was 64.0 kJ/mol.Therefore,this study provided a new idea for the preparation of efficient and low-cost catalysts.
