Abstract: Polysilicic aluminum ferric chloride (PSAFC) was prepared by acid leach process and with industrial solid waste red mud,fly ash,and hydrochloric acid as raw materials.Technology conditions and the product′s flocculating effects on the tannery wastewater were studied preliminarily. It was found that the optimal technology conditions were as follows:mass ratio of fly ash to red mud was 1∶2,roasting temperature was 850 ℃,and the volume/mass ratio was 5 mL/g.Maximum leaching ratio of Fe from red mud and fly ash was 73.9% under those optimal conditions. The optimal initial dosage of the product in tannery wastewater was 250 mg/L.COD and SS′ maximum removal rates were 73.91% and 97.86% respectively and the wastewater had high transmittancy after treatment.   
