Study on demulsification of emulsification extraction of wet process phosphoric acid

Abstract: Emulsification extraction method was used to extract wet-process phosphoric acid,and then the emulsion was demulsificated to separate the both phases.Effects of ultrasonic and centrifugation on emulsion demulsification were studied. Results showed that emulsion droplets coalesce so slowly by natural sedimentation that the demulsification needs a long time. The demulsification rate can reach 80% using ultrasonic demulsification method under the following conditions:ultrasonic time was 15 min and ultrasonic power was 40 W.The demulsification rate can reach 97% using centrifugation demulsification method under the following conditions:centrifugal speed was 2 000 r/min and centrifugal time was 3 min.Additionally,emulsion demulsification technology combining ultrasonic and centrifugation was further researched.
