Abstract: It is a highly effective and reusable method for removal of metal ions in water using zeolites as absorbents.Adsorption performances of ZSM-5,Y,and Beta three different zeolites on Pb2+ were comparatively studied.Effects of zeolite dosage,pH,adsorbing time, and initial Pb2+ concentration on the adsorbing ratio of Pb2+ were investigated, respectively. Results showed Beta zeolite performed the best under the same conditions.A 94.4% of Pb2+ adsorbing ratio was obtained at the conditions of 4 g/L of adsorbent dosage,6 of pH,and 140 min of adsorbing time. The relatingships between the absorbing capacity and equilibrium mass concentration for the three zeolites were all in good accordance with the isothermal adsorption equations of Freundlich and Langmuir, respectively.
