Synthesis of CdS-intercalated K2La2Ti3-xCexO10 composite photocatalyst and photocatalystic activity thereof

Abstract: The Ce-doped-K2La2Ti3O10(K2La2Ti3-xCexO10) was prepared via a stearic acid method,and CdS-intercalated K2La2Ti3-xCexO10 photocatalysts were prepared by microwave irradiation and water bath method,respectively.The crystal shape,particle size,and morphology of the  samples were characterized by X-ray diffractometer(XRD),electronic scanning electron microscopy (SEM),and UV-visible spectroscopy instrument (UV-vis).The photocatalytic properties of these cata- lysts for degradation of organics were also investigated.Results showed that,the intercalation of CdS expanded the absorption range to visible light,and the photocatalytic activity was enhanced.The photocatalytic activity of microwave-assisted CdS-K2La2Ti3-xCexO10 for the degradation of Rhodamine B was 33.66%,whereas the degradation of water bath prepared ones was 17.68%.
