Abstract:

CO2 capture technology by metal oxide is an effective method for carbon emission reduction. However, metal oxides in CO2 capture have some problems, such as low adsorption capacity and easy hardening. At present, molten salt modification of metal oxide can effectively solve these problems. The hydrotalcite derived magnesium aluminum oxides,MgO and CaO were studied. The effects of doped molten salts(such as nitrate, nitrite, carbonate, etc.) on the CO2 capture performance of metal oxides were reviewed. The modification mechanism was analyzed and the application progress of CO2 capture by metal oxides was summarized. In the future, more attention should be paid to the design of doped molten salt system, the study of low-cost and highly selective adsorption materials and the study of capture mechanism. At the same time, practical working conditions should be simulated as much as possible in the experiment to provide support for subsequent large-scale industrial applications.
