Research and evaluation of silicate composite viscoelastic oil displacement agent

Abstract:

Using viscoelastic surfactant to form worm like micelles with certain viscoelasticity requires high concentration of raw materials and high cost which restricts the application of viscoelastic surfactant oil displacement agent in the field.Using liquid sodium silicate,amphoteric surfactant and nano silica as raw materials,a viscoelastic oil displacement agent which could significantly improve the viscosity of injected water at economic concentration and had excellent oil displacement performance was prepared.The TEM characterization results showed that the oil displacement agent could achieve high viscosity when the effective mass fraction was 0.3%.By adjusting the effective mass fraction of liquid sodium silicate and surfactant to 0.12%~0.20%,the viscosity of the prepared oil displacement agent reached 10~50 mPa·s.The results showed that the oil displacement effect of viscoelastic oil displacement agent was almost twice of polymer. This work provided a new method for the development of new high?efficiency oil displacement agents,and also provided a new idea for the rheological study of oil displacement agents.
