Research on synthesis of 4A zeolite with a coal gangue in Inner Mongolia at low temperature

Abstract: This experiment takes the coal gangue of Inner Mongolia as the raw material,uses alkali fusion method at low tem- perature(450 ℃) to activate the test sample,and synthesizes 4A zeolite by hydrothermal method with adding crystallization directing agent.The experiments were carried out at crystallizing temperatures at 30~60 ℃ and crystallizing time of 24 h.4A zeolites synthesized at different temperatures were characterized by XRD,SEM,FT-IR,and BET etc.to evaluate the quality of as-prepared zeolites indirectly.Results showed that there was a small number of 4A zeolite generated in samples at crystallizing temperature of 30 ℃.But when the temperature reached 50 ℃,4A zeolite with better morphology,higher crystallinity,and 2 μm particle size could be obtained.
