Abstract: China is a major producer of lithium-ion battery，but not a producing power.The cathode material is essential to the improvement of the performance of the lithium-ion battery.The characters，preparation methods， modifying methods，and the applications of common cathode materials of lithium-ion battery were mainly discussed.The problems that there are too many theoretical researches，but the researches on the industrialization of synthesis of the cathode materials and the batteries，which limits the upgrade of the industrial level，especially the development to the high-end of battery market，were proposed and the direction of the materials′ research was also prospected.
