Research on recycling of potassium magnesium fertilizer from tailings in potash production of subtype magnesium sulfate salt lake

Abstract: Potassium-magnesium sulfate fertilizer was prepared via transformation and flotation method with tail salt from potash production in West Taijinar salt lake as raw material.The major factors including tail salt particle size,amount of adjusting slurry,different flotation process stage,and storage time of tail salt were investigated,and the optimum experimental conditions were obtained.The recovery of potassium-magnesium sulfate fertilizer from tail salt was more than 55%,and the total potassium yield of the entire production system was increased by more than 24.8%.It was revealed by results that this new process for recovery potassium-magnesium sulfate fertilizer from tail salt would improve the total recovery of potassium and magnesium in potash production and provided a new approach for sulfate-type salt lake resource comprehensive recycling and utilizing.
