Abstract: ZnO nanowire arrays were successfully fabricated on stainless steel mesh by hydrothermal method. The surface morphology of as-synthesized samples were characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The effects of reactants′ concentration and reaction time on the morphology were discussed in detail. The photocatalytic activities of various ZnO nanowire arrays under different conditions have been studied by degradation of acid orange Ⅱ.The results showed that the density, length, diameter, and morphology of the ZnO nanowire arrays were significantly influenced by the concentration of zinc nitrate and reaction time.Under the conditions of zinc nitrate concentration of  0.1 mol/L and reaction time of  6 h,the obtained products showed better photocatalytic activity, which can be reused and exhibited high stability. In addition, the photocatalytic degradation test results of laminated ZnO nanowire arrays confirmed that the latticed structure of the stainless steel mesh provided a novel route for the multi-dimension nanoarrays and nanofilms.
