Abstract: Nano-sized strontium borate powders(SrB6O10) were prepared by carbon adsorption precipitation method. The Sr(Cl)2 and ammonium pentaborate were taken as reactants. The calcination temperature, crystalline phase, particle size, and optical absorption properties of SrB6O10 were characterized by means of thermogravimetric analysis-differential thermal analy- sis(TG-DTA),X-ray diffraction(XRD),transmission electron microscope(TEM),and UV-Vis spectroscopy. The results showed that adsorption of activated carbon could prevent powder′s agglomeration during the preparation, drying, and calcination process. The SrB6O10 crystal had a good dispersion, average grain size was around 13 nm,and surface area was 83.26 m2/g at 600 ℃.The result of photocatalytic reaction for the degradation of Rhodamine B chloride under ultraviolet light radiation showed the degradation of Rhodamine B chloride  on the strontium borate catalysis almost complete in 60 min.
