Selection and optimization of filtration-and-separation equipment in titanium dioxide engineering design

Abstract: There are several chemical unit operation processes in titanium dioxide production with sulfuric acid method.The filtration-and-separation is an important unit operation process.Its production process includes hot filtration,ferrous sulfate separation,once washing,twice washing,salt slurry dehydration after treatment,and three-times washing etc..The devices comprise the tube type filter,pressure filter,leaf filter,vacuum drum filter,and centrifuge etc..Technical and economic analysis was made for each working procedure in the aspects of equipment selection,construction cost,construction area,operation cost,and separation effect etc.,so as to help the enterprises making a reasonable choice for process route and equipment in the filtration and separation process,to improve the energy-saving and cost-reducing level.
