Abstract: Saving energy is the only way for the titanium dioxide industry which belongs to the high energy-consuming industry.According to the policy of the ‘12th Five-Year Plan’,using waste heat recovery technology to recycle the waste heat from the process of vacuum crystallization in the production of titanium dioxide, and turning low temperature heat into useful heat for the hydrolysis and coating processes.Thereby,it plays a very good energy saving effect.A 120 000 t/a titanium dioxide production line could save more than 10 000 t of standard coal per year.

Key words: titanium dioxide, vacuum crystallization, waste heat recovery, energy conservation and emission reduction
