Abstract: In order to verify the treatment effect of zeolite to heavy metal bearing wastewater, taking the manganiferous wastewater as study object and 13X zeolite as the sorbent, the influences of dosage of adsorption material, adsorption time, stirring speed, and pH of the solution on the adsorption effect of Ca(Ⅱ),Mn(Ⅱ),and Mg(Ⅱ) were investigated. Results showed, the dosage of 13X zeolite had important effect on the adsorption of Mn(Ⅱ) and Mg(Ⅱ);with the increasing of adsorption time, the removal efficiency of various metals increased;proper stirring speed was beneficial to the adsorption, but the optimum stirring speeds were different to the 3 metals;and low pH had negative effect on the adsorption. The ion exchange and surface sorption were suggested to be the major adsorption mechanisms in the experiments. Results showed that 13X zeolite had extensive application prospects in disposing mangeniferous wastewater with low concentration.
