Abstract: Nickel titanate (NiTiO3) nanocrystallites were prepared via sol-gel method under different pH using inorganic nickel salt and tetrabutyl titanate as raw materials, absolute ethanol as solvent, citric acid as chelating agent, and acetylacetone as complexing agent.Prepared nanocrystallites were tested and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD),DSC/TG,and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).Results showed that the synthesis temperature of NiTiO3 nanocrystallites was between 550 ℃ and 700 ℃;it′s easier to obtain monophase NiTiO3 nanocrystallites in acidic condition;with the increase of pH,the powders had lower purity and the average particle size had increasing trend;powders were monophase NiTiO3 nanocrystallites with a hexagon morphorlogy when pH=0.5. 
