Abstract: Underground brine, salt lake brine and ore are rich in lithium resources. Lithium extraction is mainly carried out from the former two,so it needs to be rationally developed and Resin based friction materials generally have thermal decay problems.Solving the thermal decay of friction materials has always been a hot topic in friction materials research.Inorganic binders have the characteristics of high temperature resis tance and are expected to replace resin binders as materials for friction materials. The silicate was used as the binder, and the nitrile rubber was used as the toughness improving component. The friction material was prepared by the hot press forming process. The effect of the type and content of silicates, the content of rubber on the impact toughness and friction and wear properties were studied. The wear morphology of the friction material was observed by scanning electron microscopy, and the wear me chanism was analyzed. The results showed that the binding force of the friction material matrices produced by the mixed sili cate with the amount of substance ratio of sodium to potassium of 2∶1 were strong and the comprehensive performance was the best. The proper content of silicate can provide better strength and toughness for the friction material, and can achieve the smoothness and stability of the friction coefficient over the entire test temperature range, and effectively improve the thermal decay resistance of the friction material. The addition of proper amount of rubber can increase the impact toughness of the material.
