Abstract: With titania slags and titanium minerals as raw materials，a series of metatitanic acid were prepared under the same conditions through some processes related to the preparation of TiO2 by sulfuric acid method.The titanium minerals and titania slags were analyzed by XRD and SEM.The specific surface area and particle size of the prepared metatitanic acid：the raw materials of TiO2 used for de-NOx catalyst were also analyzed.Results showed that the metatitanic acid made by titania slags was with smaller particle size，lower degree of agglomeration，and lower specific surface area than that made by titanium minerals. Therefore，it is more suitable for producing nano-sized TiO2 in making de-NOx catalyst.
