Abstract: Development of China inorganic salts industry in recent fifty years was reviewed in terms of production scale，varieties，import and export quantity，technology and equipment，energy-saving and emission-reduction，and comprehensive utilization etc..China inorganic salts industry has grown rapidly and made a remarkable achievement.Existing problems are mainly as follows:small scale,unreasonable product structure,limited technological innovation ability,serious environmental pollution,and redundant development of ordinary products.Some suggestions to promote inorganic salts industrial development were offered,such as developing inorganic salts industry charactered bases,taking the way of large-scale,intensive refining production,and energy-saving and emission-reduction,and improving international competitiveness of inorganic salts.
