Abstract: Ba2+  content in yellow water directly determined the quality of strontium carbonate, adding sulfuric acid will cause the barium ions convert into barium sulfate and a small amount of strontium sulfate.Strontium sulfate will transform into barium sulfate by rapid stirring. Meanwhile, rapid stirring made the precipitation particles become smaller and resulted in slower settlement speed. If adding flocculant, suspended particles could be flocculated and precipitated.Influence of different flocculants on sedimentation effect of suspended particles was studied.Experiment results showed polyacrylamide with molecular weight of 1 800 had the best settlement effect and no pollution to the product.
