Fabrication and electrochemical properties of Zn-based electrode materials

Abstract:

A zinc-based ordered micro-nano-plate electrode material was prepared in situ on the surface of foamed Ni by hy-drothermal method with Zn nitrate and Al nitrate as precursors and urea as precipitant.The structure and morphology of the product were studied and characterized by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron micro-scopy.The results showed that the product presented layered double hydroxides structure with a small amount of Al doping.The Zn4-xAlx(OH)6CO3·H2O appeared a regular hexagonal structure with a diameter of 1~2 μm and a thickness of 80~200 nm.The electrochemical test of the three-electrode system showed that the electrode presented typical pseudo capacitance proper-ties.The specific capacitance of in-situ ordered growth of Zn4-xAlx(OH)6CO3·H2O electrode was still as high as 1 022.3 F/gwhen the current density was 5 A/g.
