Abstract: Zinc oxide(ZnO)nanoparticles were synthesized by continuous supercritical water technique and its photo- catalytic performance was studied. When reaction conditions were at the reaction temperature of 385 ℃,the pressure of 25 MPa, the reaction time of 40 s,and the reactant concentrations of Zn2+ and OH- of 0.075 mol/L and 0.3 mol/L,respectively,spherical ZnO nanoparticles of 30 nm were obtained.Methyl orange solution was taken as a model of light catalytic reaction. Results indicated that the degradation of methyl orange reached 100% via as-synthesized nano-sized ZnO as photocatalyst under ultraviolet light, and the concentration and dispersibility of nano-sized ZnO had a significant impact on the photocatalytic efficiency.
