Synthesis of adsorbent for extracting lithium and research on adsorption process

Abstract: Spinel Li1.6Mn1.6O4 was synthesized with KMnO4 as raw material via hydrothermal reaction and calcinations.Then H1.6Mn1.6O4 which had a lithium adsorption effect was produced by exchanging H+ in HCl with the lithium of spinel Li1.6Mn1.6O4. The intermediate-product and end-product were characterized by SEM and XRD.The results of adsorption experiment using H1.6Mn1.6O4 as the adsorbent,showed that the synthetic adsorbent had a good performance in adsorption capacity to lithium ions with the maximum adsorption of 46 mg/g.And the results of desorption experiment with HCl showed that the desorption rate was above 95% and the dissolved loss rate was about 3%.
