Studies on preparation and biomineralization performance of Sr-HAP/CS composite gel

Abstract: Strontium-doped hydroxyapatite/chitosan composite gel(Sr-HAP/CS) was prepared by chemical precipitation- freeze-drying process.Compared with hydroxyapatite/chitosan gel(HAP/CS),their compositions,structures,and biomineraliza- tion performances were studied.The products were confirmed by IR,XRD,and SEM analysis:The HAP/CS and Sr-HAP/CS were mainly constitutive of HAP,Sr-HAP,and CS,and there was no new chemical bonds formed.Sr-HAP characteristic peak in XRD was sharp than HAP,and its crystal diameter decreased.The internal structure of two kinds of gel present reticular and pore on disperse uniformly.Results showed that the mineralized experiment,dissolution,and deposition of calcium on surface were produced for two kinds of compound gel soaked in simulated body fluid(SBF).After 15 d the gel surface had obvious white flocks which were mainly the HAP,and Sr-HAP/CS′s was more in quantity.Compound gel had induced into osseous,and the promotion effect of Sr-HAP/CS to the growth of inorganic osteogenesis content was stronger.
