Abstract:

It is of great significance to use cheap sodium silicate in the production of silica microspheres. With sodium silicate as silicon source and PEG as structural guiding agent, the highly dispersed silica microspheres were successfully synthesized with the assistance of ultrasonic wave in this research. The effect of PEG and ultrasonic on the morphology of the product was investigated and the relationship between the reaction temperature,pH,PEG molecular weight and the particle size of the product was discussed. The results showed that PEG could guide the product into sphere, ultrasonic could improve the dispersion of the product, increasing the temperature and pH would reduce the particle size of the product, increasing the molecular weight of PEG would increase the particle size of the product. When the temperature was 40 ℃,pH was 3.5,and the molecular weight of PEG was 2 000,the obtained product had good dispersion with particle size of 6.34 μm.
