Synthesis of multilayer cage-like zinc oxide nanopowder by hydrothermal method

Abstract: Multilayer cage-like zinc oxide nanopowder was prepared by hydrothermal method.Structure,composition,and morphology of the as-synthesized composite precursor and sintering product were characterized by means of XRD,SEM,EDS,and TG-DAT and preliminary discussion was made on the formaiton machenism of cage-like zinc oxide.Results indicated that the introduction of glucose could inhibit the anisotropic growth of zinc oxide crystals and make zinc oxide to form a spherical shape on one hand;being as porecreating material glucose could form amorphous carbon skeleton,and a multilayer cage-like structure will be formed after being calcined on the other hand.This novel porous structural cage-like zinc oxide may have potential application in photocatalyst area.
