Abstract: Properties of the hydrolysis of the vinyl triethoxy silane coupling agent(A-151) were analyzed by conductivity. The influences of pH,volume ratio of water to A-151,and temperature on the hydrolysis of silane were investigated.By utilizing the hydrolysis characteristic of A-151,surface modification of titanium dioxide, which was coated with zirconium and aluminum composites, was carried out.And then the organic modified titanium dioxide was characterized by surface contact angle instrument,FT-IR,and SEM.Results showed that the surface contact angle of modified titanium dioxide was 108.2°,the modified powders appeared of a peak at 3 078 cm-1 which was corresponding to the olefin C—H stretching vibration, and the SEM photos showed the dispersion of the modified titanium dioxide was improved.
