Study on preparation of 4A zeolite from kaolin and bauxite

Abstract: With kaolin and bauxite as raw materials,4A zeolite was synthesized under hydrothermal conditions after alkaline fusion and activated roasting.The influence of roasting activation temperature and time on synthesis of 4A zeolite was inspected by using single factor experiment.And the effect of gel temperature,gel time,crystallization temperature,and crystallization time on hydrothermal synthesis process was investigated by orthogonal optimization experiment.Results showed that the optimal roasting activation temperature was 600 ℃ and time was 2 h;the optimal hydrothermal parameters of 4A zeolite were as follows: gel temperature was 75 ℃,gel time was 4 h,crystallization temperature was 95 ℃,and crystallization time was 4 h.XRD,FESEM,and laser diffraction scattering type of particle size distribution tester were used for analyzing the product. 
