Preparation and performance of sulfided NiMoS/CNTs hydrogenation catalyst

Abstract: Sulfided NiMoS/CNTs hydrogenation catalyst with Mo-Ni as the major active component was prepared with CNTs as support and sulfurization precursor ammonium tetrathiomolybdate as molybdenum source,by incipient wetness impregna tion method.The hydrodesulfurization(HDS) performance of dibenzothiophene(DBT) on NiMoS/CNTs catalyst by using flow microhigh pressure reactor was researched and compared with NiMoS/γ-Al2O3.The evaluation results indicated that,NiMoS/CNTs catalyst has much higher HDS activity and selectivity than NiMoS/γ-Al2O3 catalyst.The CNTs-supported NiMoS/CNTs catalyst has a lower initial reduction temperature,higher molybdenum disulfide stacking layer,higher Mo4+ atomic ratio,suita ble molybdenum disulfide wafer length and high density of active site,which is the main reason for high performance of hy drogenation catalyst.
