Abstract: Yttrium doped nano-sized ZrO₂(YSZ) was prepared by sol-gel method.Influences of titration way of precipitant,concentration of zirconium ions,solvents,drying method, and calcining temperature on properties of products were systematically discussed.Precursor dried gel powders and products were characterized by FT-IR,TG-DSC,XRD,and SEM.It was showed that tetragonal zirconia powders with a single component and average particle size of 39 nm can be synthesized through the following conditions:using water as solvent,chosing the positive titration way,the concentration of zirconium ions was 0.5 mol/L,the gel was dried in vacuum oven and the dried gel was calcined at 550 ℃for 2 h. 
