Abstract: A certain amount of industrial waste residue were produced from the enterprises in the production process of DMSO by dimethyl thioether oxidation method, and the main ingredient of the residue was sodium nitrate and contained some sodium nitrite which needed to be removed to meet the requirements of the national emission standards. The oxidation process of sodium nitrite in industrial waste residue with hot air,H2O2,and ozone was studied respectively, and their costs were compared. Results showed that the effect of ozone was the best, sodium nitrite mass fraction can be reduced from 2.48% to 0.000 14%,the removal rate was near 100%,the treatment cost was low,and it was about 60 yuan/t.
