Abstract: The method of multi stage ionexchange was used to remove sodium from hydrogenation refining agent carrier. The effect of factors, such as ammonium salts, soaking time, exchange temperature and ammonium salt concentration, were investi gated. The Box-Behnken experiment design was carried out with three main influencing factors: soaking time, exchange tempera ture and ammonium salt concentration. The sodium content was the response function and the corresponding mathematical model was established. Results showed that the ammonium salt with better removing sodium effect was ammonium acetate. The best experimental conditions were as follows:the soaking time was 60 min,the exchange temperature was 60 ℃and the mass frac tion of ammonium salt was 5.5%.Removing sodium from the hydrogenation refining agent carrier by Box-Behnken experiment design is feasible, and the prediction values of the mathematical model are in line with the experimental observation.
