Abstract: Experiments of extracting boron in concentrated brine from a Tibet salt lake were carried out.Various influencing factors of extracting and back extracting, such as acidity, volume ratio of extractant, the time of extraction and back extraction, the concentration of back-extractant,and phase ratio, were investigated in detail. The optimal technological conditions of boron extraction with mix alcohol were obtained as followed:pH of raw material liquid was 3;the volume ratio of organic phase was 3(2-ethyl-1,3-hex-anedio)∶7(isooctyl alcohol)∶10(sulfonated kerosene);the ratio of organic phase ratio was 1.0;the time of extraction was 10 min;and the back extraction conditions were:the concentration of back-extractant was 0.3 mol/L;phase ratio was 1.0;and back extraction time was 10 min.Under these conditions, the extraction rate and back extraction rate could reach over 96% and 95%,respectively.Furthermore,it was shown that the extraction efficiency of mixed alcohols was far better than that of monobasic alcohol.
