Development of tin oxide powder with high purity and high specific surface area

Abstract: Tin oxide powder with high purity and high specific surface area was prepared through improving the technology and conditions of the existing tin oxide preparation method——nitric acid oxidation process.Detailed improvement procedures are as follows:adding tin with purity more than 99.9% into compound organic acid solution having strong complexing ability to form mutual solution;then gel reaction happened by dropwise adding nitric acid and oxidant and offwhite paste precursor was obtained;polymerization reaction happened by dropping ammonia into paste precursor and brown transparent liquid was got;after filtration,spray drying,heat treatment,and grinding,tin oxide powder product was obtained.Product quality test results were as follows:the product purity was 99.9%,median diameter (D50) was 3.5 μm,specific surface area was 20.79 m2 / g,and bulk density was 0.81 g/cm3.This technology has many advantages,such as simple process,short production cycle,low cost,and easy-to-industrialization.
