Preparation of β-hemihydrate gypsum by phosphogypsum roasting

Abstract:

In view of the difficulties in controlling temperature,time and other key thermal limits in the process of roasting phosphogypsum to prepare β-hemihydrous gypsum and high energy consumption,static roasting and multistage dynamic roasting were compared to explore the best thermal constants and technical indexes of phosphogypsum and phosphogypsum roasting after purification by flotation to prepare β-hemihydrous gypsum.The results showed that the content and mechanical properties of β-hemihydrate gypsum products prepared by multistage dynamic roasting purified phosphogypsum were better than original phosphogypsum.After the purified phosphogypsum was roasted at 180 ℃ for 60 min,β-hemihydrate gypsum content of 87.45% was gained.The initial and final setting time remained 3 min and 9 min,respectively,and the 2 h flexural and compressive strength reached 3.5 MPa and 7.8 MPa,respectively,which met the requirements of national standard Grade 3 products and could be used in the construction gypsum industry.
