Abstract:

Nanosized ZSM-5 aggregates with multiple channels were synthesized using silica and water glass as silicon sources,silicate-1 nanocrystals as crystal nuclei, and tetrapropylammonium bromide(TPABr) as structural directing agents. The adjustable ranges of crystal and particle sizes were 30~300 nm and 400 nm~1.2 μm,respectively.Based on the characterization results,it was speculated that there was a synergistic effect between Silicate-1 and TPABr during the formation of nanoscale ZSM-5 aggregates.Under alkaline conditions, the surface of the crystal seeds had abundant negative charges, and some TPA+ would adsorb on the surface of the crystal seeds to compensate for surface negative charges. Therefore, crystals induced by TPABr could rapidly grow around the surface of the seed, resulting in the formation of nano aggregates.During this process, the size of crystals and particles could be flexibly adjusted by controlling TPABr and seed content separately. This method of synthesizing nanoscale ZSM-5 aggregates had the characteristics of flexibility and convenience, and was suitable for large-scale industrial production.
