Abstract:

Based on the analysis of the world′s potash reserves and production and utilization characteristics, some urgent problems in the development of China′s potash industry and application prospect of polyhalide were pointed out.It was found that 56.98% of the world′s potash reserves were highly concentrated in Canada,Russia and Belarus.China′s total potash reserves were rich, but less than 20% of the available potash deposits were available, which required long?term dependence on imported potash fertilizer to meet domestic demand. There were some problems in the development of China′s potash industry, such as the small amount of available potassium, most foreign potassium exploration projects in the construction stage, high energy consumption of potash fertilizer production, and limited types of potash salts. In recent years, with the increase of potassium resource consumption and traditional chemical fertilizer price, and the demand for sulfur fertilizer,as a low?cost slow?release multi?element potassium fertilizer, polyhalite had attracted people′s attention, and China′s demand for high?quality polyhalite would also increase significantly. Therefore,it is imperative to further understand the structural characteristics of polyhalite, analyze the application of polyhalite in agriculture and point out the shortcomings of the existing research,so as to realize the promotion and application of polyhalite in China to alleviate the pressure of potash fertilizer shortage and the green development of agriculture.
