Abstract: Active alumina has many uses in a variety of industries.Pore volume is one of the most significant parameters of product. How to produce large pore volume active alumina has become an important topic of research and production.The actual industrial result of producing high-quality active alumina with speedy dewatering technology and aluminum hydroxide as raw material was reported.The product had many advantages including large pore volume，small apparent density，high intensity，and large specific area.Speedy dewatering technology had been proved to be an effective mean to produce large pore volume active alumina based on the practice for several years.The composition of solid phase during production was studied in experiment.Data showed that pseudo-boehmite could be used as pore-expanding reagent to produce active alumina.In process of speedy dewatering technology，pore volume of spherical alumina could be increased to 0.76 mL/g by adding certain amount of large pore volume pseudo-boehmite.
