Abstract: With the development of EOR technology, the problem of oil congestion is more and more serious.Degradation of polyacrylamide by different concentrations of chlorine dioxide, and the influence of temperature were mainly studied.Degradation mechanism of polyacrylamide by chlorine dioxide was also discussed.Viscosity values of polyacrylamide as the change of time in six hours,in different temperature or different chlorine dioxide concentrations were mainly determined,so as to decide the degradation effect of chlorine dioxide. Results showed the best chlorine dioxide mass fraction was 4×10-3 for polyacrylamide degradation at room temperature when its mass fraction was 2%;the best temperature of 2%(mass fraction) polyacrylamide degradation was 60 ℃ when chlorine dioxide mass fraction was 4×10-3. 
