Hydrolysis and content measurement of sodium tripolyphosphate by titration method

Abstract: Conditions of the hydrolysis of sodium tripolyphosphate dissolved in different concentrations of nitric acid and without acid at room temperature were studied,and the situation of the hydrolysis of sodium tripolyphosphate at 50 ℃ with different heating times was investigated.The results showed that the rate of hydrolysis of sodium tripolyphosphate accelerated when the pH of the solution was reduced and the temperature elevated,and the temperature was the major influence factor on the hydrolysis of sodium tripolyphosphate.At the same time,the content of sodium tripolyphosphate was determined by titration method.Sodium tripolyphosphate was almost totally hydrolyzed when the sample was boiled for 25 min,and the content of sodium tripolyphosphate was 99.31%.
