Abstract: Borax was produced from tincal ore by water immersion-cooling crystallization method.Influences of leaching temperature,liquid-solid ratio, leaching time, crystallization temperature, and crystallization time on leaching and crystallization were investigated. The optimal process conditions were as follows: leaching temperature was 60 ℃,liquid-solid volumic mass ratio was 2 mL/g,leaching time was 30 min, crystallization temperature was at 0~10 ℃,and crystallization time was 6 h.Under these conditions, boron leaching rate and borax crystallizing rate were more than 98% and nearly 94%,respectively,with the recovery ratio of boron about 92%.The as-prepared borax products had a low impurity, which exceeded the first grade standard requirements of Industrial Disodium Tetraborate Decahydrate,GB/T 537—2009.
